Dalton, Mass. — Two bitter rivals came together on the field to make one very special player’s dream come true.
Under Friday night’s lights, the biggest stars usually shine the brightest. But for one local football team, it was their most special player that stole the spotlight last Friday night.
The Wahconah warriors of Dalton, Mass. beat their longtime rivals, the Mount Greylock Mounties on senior night.
But on the game’s final play, senior Mitch Ellsworth, who suffers from ADHD and epilepsy, scored an 8-yard touchdown.
And for Mitch, his teammates, and everyone in attendance, it was a moment they say they’ll never forget.
“It’s something that Mitch will never forget and I don’t think it’s something that either side will ever forget, as far as being a participant in a special game for a great kid,” said Gary Campbell, Wahconah Head Coach.
